Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a labour camp near Om Convention in Narsingi, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, on Tuesday, damaging at least four makeshift houses. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
Initial reports suggest that the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit followed by an LPG gas leak, though authorities have yet to confirm the exact cause.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire began in one of the houses and quickly spread to adjacent structures due to the flammable materials used in construction. Residents immediately evacuated the area, helping avoid any injuries.
Locals in the nearby residential colonies noticed heavy smoke and flames and quickly alerted the fire department and local police.
Firefighters and police teams arrived promptly on the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control. The presence of straw and plastic in the houses contributed to thick smoke and an unpleasant odour that spread across the vicinity.
The value of the property damaged in the fire is still being assessed. Narsingi police have launched an investigation into the incident.
